Latin America is generally understood to consist of the entire continent of South America in addition to Mexico, Central America, and the islands of the Caribbean. Covering an area of over 6000 miles and having a population of over 600 million people, Latin America provides a wealth of opportunities for UK exporters & investors.

The regions infrastructure and social improvements, underpinned by the consumers appetite for goods and services creates a need for international expertise and products. Despite UK exports to the region having grown over recent years, they are still being outstripped by many of our European competitors.

We were delighted to be joined by Tania Hoyos, founding member of the Council of Ibero American Chambers in the UK and Executive Director of the British & Colombian Chamber of Commerce in London, who spoke about the opportunities available and the difficulties encountered by UK businesses in Latin America.
