Project management is in the spotlight at the moment, with some significant successes but, overall, success rates still leave a lot to be desired. If a programme or project doesn’t realise the planned benefits it cannot be considered successful. Accordingly, the principles, processes and practices of benefits management need to be better and more consistently applied. BS 202002:2023 Applying benefits management on portfolios, programmes and projects – Guide was developed to meet this need and draws on experience from a range of different sectors including major projects that government delivers.
